Here the R-Habit at 13 is not marked learnt after the Q 1 input because it was the start of a subconscious R-habit (repeating a learnt R-Habit).
But now when the next B is input we will have the learnt R-Habit at 8 executing subconsciously and the unlearnt R-Habit at 13 executing consciously. Ideally what we are trying to do is exhaust all the novelty in the resulting stimuli Q A A A, at which point when it gets a B it decides to respond reflexively with a b. To do this all previous “B respond a” binons need to be learnt and binon 9 and 14 will have to be familiar. So maybe when doing the “B response a” at 13 we should be doing it consciously or at least marking it learnt. Another possibility is that R-Habits are never marked learnt, they are always started consciously but done subconsciously and we in parallel do conscious S-Habits to recognize the resulting stimuli if they attract attention. Then the only reason we repeat an R-Habit is if its result or thought of result is novel. But then the mechanism by which R-Habits get combined escapes me. Actually the R-habit need only be on the Habit list if it is the execution of a combined habit because it has to recognize (subconsciously) the intermediate stimulus before producing the second response. After the second response has been done it can be removed from H-List. So R-Habits executing a device action need not be on the H-List.
