Adaptron Test Run – 1 - Date: 7th July 2009

In this test case #9 we are faced with the situation where the first conscious habit completed and the second is continuing. The first recognized the goal stimulus of BA with an overlap of 1 with the stored trigger.  The second is trying to recognize the AB sequence repeating with no overlap. Based on this morning’s notes I am paying attention to the stimulus that the continuing habit gets before considering any completed habits.

The question is; should the conscious habits continue and disregard the completed one? Or should the completed one be used and all other conscious habits stopped? In this particular situation the completed one was of interest level 1 and the continuing one was of interest level 0. Does this have a bearing on the decision? The completed one was the most recent one needing to be learnt. Does this have any bearing on the decision? The completed one is the shorter of the sequences. Should all possible short sequences be learnt before longer ones? I think this last argument is the correct one and thus completed habits should be attended to and any continuing ones stopped.
