Perception Test Run – 1 - Date: 30th December 2015

This is a test run of the * N * O * N * O * N * O series to detect repeating sequences. It has just detected the repeat (2nd occurrence of binon #27 = N * O * and idled all the directly and indirectly targeted binons of the lower level goal binons of #27 and of #27 itself.  The idea being that none of the parts of #27 at any lower level should be the triggers for the next perception because #27 has repeated. However the code that starts S-Habits to recognize anything triggered by the perceived binons goes ahead and starts binons #23, #25, #28 and #31. These should not be started (Perceived).

One solution would be to not start them because #27 has repeated. Another solution would be to add a new state such that the 4 binons are inhibited and when started they return to idle.

Does this have something to do with focusing attention? What you pay attention to is enhanced and other associated things are inhibited from attracting attention. And is this the same as set / potentiation / activation of action habits? Also there is the refractory period for a neuron to which this may correspond.
